What’s the story with Tekashi? one minute he is serving a prison sentence, then released due to covid 19 and ratting on gang members.
feelings are mixed on the subject is he a Rat or is he justified in his actions?.
He released the track GOOBA , in 24hour hit nearly 60m views on Youtube
A bit of background
Daniel Hernandez (born May 8, 1996), known professionally as 6ix9ine (pronounced “six nine”) or Tekashi69 (also stylized as Tekashi 6ix9ine), is an American rapper and convicted criminal. His music has been marked by an aggressive style of rapping, while his controversial public persona is characterized by his distinctive rainbow-colored hair, extensive tattoos, public feuds with fellow celebrities, and legal issues.
6ix9ine became widely known in late 2017 after the release of his debut single, “Gummo”, which was a sleeper hit. He subsequently released the mixtape Day69 (2018), which was supported by the singles “Kooda”, “Keke”, and “Gotti”, all of which charted on the Billboard Hot 100. During his breakout year, his outspoken public persona and legal issues received significant media attention, while his conduct on social media and feuds with other celebrities contributed to his popularity. “Fefe”, featuring Nicki Minaj, the lead single from his debut album Dummy Boy (2018), became 6ix9ine’s most successful single, peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100. Despite negative critical reception, Dummy Boy was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His first single since his release from prison, “Gooba”, was released alongside a music video.
In 2015, 6ix9ine pled guilty to a felony count of use of a child in a sexual performance and received a four-year probation period and a 1,000-hour community service order. In 2018, he was arrested on racketeering, weapons, and drug charges. He pled guilty to nine charges including conspiracy to murder and armed robbery in February 2019 and was given a 2-year prison sentence in December 2019 after testifying against fellow members of the Nine Trey Gangsters. However, he was released early in April 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic following fears over his vulnerability to COVID-19 due to his asthma condition and was instead put on house arrest for the remainder of his term.
Turned To Social Media To clear things Up
69 went on to Instagram to explain, he’s been kidnapped, had money stolen and one of the gang members had slept with his “babies momma”, giving him the rationale to break the “Stree code” and Rat on gang mebers which was a contributing factor in his release.
The reaction has been really mixed
Snoop Dog released a track and video
Snoop dogg, one of the biggest names in not only rap but the music industry as a whole, released a track and video which basically is talking about the G Code (gangters don’t rat, stay true to the street)
People vocal on all social media platforms
People have also been vocal on social media in defense of 69 sayings, he was kidnapped, robbed and someone slept with his girlfriend. Therefore why should he keep quiet when he’s the one that’s been wronged in the first place!.
So What Are You’re Thoughts?
regardless if he is a rat or not the attention is really on him and to hit nearly 60m youtube watches in 24 hours is remarkable and as he has a $10m record deal hes going to keep releasing content unless someone finds him and shoots him, which is a real possibility.
we would love to know to drop a comment about the situation and thanks for reading
