We focus on the emerging artist from a global aspect and mix that with some of the established artists like Old Dominion.

Being an internet radio station DuggystoneRadio with the tag line “We’re Freakin Global” as we span the globe with our broadcasts.

Old Dominion is an American five-member country music band formed in Nashville, Tennessee. The band consists of Matthew Ramsey (lead vocals), Trevor Rosen (guitar, keyboards), Whit Sellers (drums), Geoff Sprung (bass guitar), and Brad Tursi (guitar) (taken from Wiki)

Old Dominion has been firm favorites on the county shows when we heard they were touring the UK  we got tickets for the Manchester gig in the amazing Albert Hall

Support Act Jordan Davis

They were supported by another amazing county artist Jordan Davis  a giant of a man and what a voice, think he was a little shocked at the knowledge of his songs the audience sang along to.

He said he does not think a lot about the titles of his tracks such as “I met my wife in a bar” and the video below “Slow Dance In A Parking Lot”

We’ve featured his tracks on a previous show and he definitely appeals to all ages, especially the younger country fans.

So on to the main event Old Dominio.

What an absolutely amazing night in Manchester!!

The Albert Hall erupted when they came on stage and they really brought the fire with them.

You could tell the band was having fun and appeared to be taken back by the audience and the fact that they were singing the words to the songs. During one song the crowd was that loud singing that the band stopped singing and continued playing.

Old Dominion informed us they were so pleased that this far from home,  that people knew the tracks but also the lyrics from deep into their albums.

One of the highlights of the evening was when 3 members brought bar stools to the front of the stage and continued interacting with the audience, talking about their journey and playing snippets from of music.

This was a great insight into how they moved to Nashville and wanted to be successful songwriters, going through each track they had written for artist and a string of number one hits.

Brad Tursi has written Luke Bryan‘s “Light It Up“, Cole Swindell‘s “Remember Boys” and “Up” as well as Randy Houser‘s “Whiskeysippi”, Tyler Farr‘s “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” in addition to songs for Kenny Chesney, the Randy Rogers BandMichael RayJosh TurnerRyan Hurd, Brandon Lay and for the ABC musical drama, Nashville.[4][9] Matthew Ramsey co-wrote “Chainsaw” for The Band PerryTrevor Rosen co-wrote Kelsea Ballerini‘s “I Hate Love Songs“, Blake Shelton‘s “I Really Shouldn’t Drink Around You”, William Michael Morgan‘s “I Met A Girl“, Chris Young‘s “Neon” and The Band Perry’s “Better Dig Two“, Two songs written for the band by Ramsey and Rosen, “Wake Up Lovin’ You” and “Say You Do“, were covered by Craig Morgan‘s and Dierks Bentley respectively and became hits.[8] Their song “Dirt on a Road” was their first song as a band

Snap Back – One of my Fav Tracks

During this time they had tried to get signed by record label but were turned down, however as more and more of their tracks became number ones they were approached, signed and sent to record their debut album and go on tour. This for them was scary, a step into the unknown. It worked and they became the band we know and love today but continue to write amazing tracks for brilliant country megastars.

The latest album from the band

It was a truly magical evening for me I felt like I had been invited to a private party the band had put on, intimate and outstanding.

Some images, we took on the night

rating 10/10 could not have been better and cannot wait to see them return in 2020
